After surveying the landscape of independent investment advisory offerings for family office clients in 2006, we quickly realized that our vision of how best to serve and partner with these clients did not yet exist in the marketplace. We wrote a business plan, resigned from our well-paying positions at one of the world’s most prestigious investment banks, and hit the ground running with all four feet. TwinFocus was born.
In the beginning, backed by a small team of one administrative assistant and two summer interns, we were answering phones, filling out documents, building portfolio models, making investments and counseling clients. Gradually and as our business grew, we cultivated new clients through referrals, invested heavily in our technology systems and infrastructure, and created division of labor with incremental revenues by hiring experts across the various facets of investment, tax & legal planning, and family office management.
Over the years, we have expanded the firm systematically by adding one client at a time. Today, we have the privilege of working side-by-side with a rock star team of 25 passionate and dedicated professionals, all with an eye towards delivering the most innovative, high-touch, and customized offering in the marketplace today.
