Kevin Long, CPA, Esq.
DIRECTOR OF TAX & ESTATE
The ins and outs of sophisticated tax, estate, and succession planning keep Kevin vis-à-vis with TwinFocus clients, finding creative ways around the thousand-and-one traps and tripwires that entangle these areas. It is territory native to Kevin, who has performed many a rescue mission for taxpayers, representing them before the Internal Revenue Service and the Massachusetts Department of Revenue.
Kevin received his J.D. in 1982 from Boston College, where he was the Revisions Editor of the UCC Reporter Digest. In 1979, he graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration from Boston College, having been a member of the School of Management Honors Program. He was admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and the U.S. Tax Court and received his CPA certification in 1987. Kevin’s legal experience is garnished by its indispensable twin, public accountancy, a field in which he has served clients for more than ten years.
Since 1997, Kevin has been on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, having also served that organization as president and vice president of finance. He has also served as chair of the Massachusetts CPA Review Technical Advisory Board, and chair of the State Tax and Legislation Committees. Kevin has authored several publications in this and cognate fields, and is often called upon to speak at industry seminars. Kevin, his wife Jennifer, and their three daughters dwell in the leafy suburb of Sudbury, MA, a profitably meditative commute from not-too-distant Boston.
