Managing Director, Portfolio Advisory

As Managing Director and head of the Portfolio Advisory group, Larry immerses himself in the metrics of asset allocation, portfolio construction and performance analysis across dynamic financial markets. Larry has significant experience in maintaining and enhancing analytical systems for risk management and reporting as well as asset allocation.


Larry brings a multidisciplinary approach to the investment team from his years of service to the industry in a variety of roles. He began his career in public accounting, the majority of which he spent at KPMG, where he provided assurance services to investment advisers, broker/dealers and not-for-profit organizations. As Director and Performance Manager with Babson Capital Management, Larry led an investment performance team for an organization managing over $90 billion across the asset class spectrum. During his tenure, Larry led Babson’s Private Wealth Management group’s successful implementation of the CFA Institute’s after-tax provisions of the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®). As Vice President with The Private Edge Group at the State Street Corporation, Larry managed State Street’s index of 1,400 private equity vehicles representing over $1.2 trillion in committed capital. At Private Edge, Larry serviced clients, monitored portfolios and analyzed data for institutional clients with significant private-equity and real-estate allocations. Larry was an early adopter of exchange-traded products and continues to research and develop tactical asset allocation strategies for low-volatility, real return portfolios utilizing momentum and efficiency analysis and low-cost, passive investment vehicles.


Larry is a graduate of SUNY at Buffalo, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, concentrating on Accounting, Finance and Management Information Systems. After earning his CPA and the CFA designation, he went on to pursue graduate-level studies in mathematical finance at Boston University. Larry is a member of AICPA, the CFA Institute and the CFA Society Boston, having served on a number of subcommittees and working groups of each organization.


Larry and his family reside in Belmont, Massachusetts, where he also served his community as a member of Belmont’s Town Meeting. He is a passionate Bruins fan, toils frequently in the gastronomic and homebrewing arts, and enjoys family time, cycling, travel and a list of sports and recreational activities too long to mention.
