Paul co-founded TwinFocus Capital in 2006 and leads the firm’s direct investing efforts in private equity, venture capital and real estate. He works closely with the firm’s key clients to guide them through a broad range of complex issues and financial decisions.
Prior to founding TwinFocus, Paul founded The Karger Group within UBS Financial Services, where he led a team that advised select institutions and high-net-worth individuals. He joined UBS through its acquisition of PaineWebber in 2000. He has also worked with technology startups and remains active in the startup community as an investor and advisor. He currently serves on the boards of Allos Environmental, Zillion Health and Glory Sports International.
Paul holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst and is a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society, CFA Institute, and the Investment Management Consultants Association. He earned his CIMA at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Finance and holds a B.S. in Manufacturing Engineering from Boston University. Paul was the recipient of the Outstanding Alumni Award in 2012 from Boston University.
As an active member of community and non-profit organizations, Paul co-founded and serves as Foundation Board president of the Bridge Boston Charter School in Dorchester, Massachusetts and is a supporter and advisor to Boston Medical Center, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, Institute for Contemporary Art Boston and YearUp. He is a member of Summit Series and The Metropolitan Club of New York, and was appointed by Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker as Commissioner to the State Athletic Commission. Paul is a longtime martial artist and has competed and actively trains in Muay Thai, Boxing, Karate, Kali and Jun Fan/Jeet Kune Do.
